Doctor's Perplexed, Family Ecstatic!

Diagnosed with a deadly infection that kills 1 out of 4 healthy patients, Shaila Visser, the Canadian director of a major Christian ministry, walked out of the hospital a full two weeks ahead of the 'minimum' 8-week treatment stay.

The doctor's words: "There is no sign of [the fungus] anywhere. I don't know what to say."

The patient's words: "I know!! I have an awesome God who heals!"

In Her Own Words

I would like to share my experience that attests to the fact that God can deliver you from anything. After the sudden death of my husband in a car wreck, I had a total nervous breakdown.

I had been a teacher for over 15 years, had an incredible family support system and believed in Jesus as my Lord and Savior. However, when you let your guard down for whatever reason Satan will take complete advantage of the situation and damage every aspect of your life. I was angry with God for "taking" my husband. I didn't care nor believe that “everything happens for a reason” and that “God has everything in control”. I simply didn't care anymore about anything.

Shortly I could not function well enough to teach. My life seemed meaningless.... Drugs - crack cocaine - to be exact...controlled my life for nearly 8 years. I did things that I never in my life thought I would do to obtain it, and actually became an agent of Satan in selling crack to others to support my own habit. That act and various other criminal activity landed me in prison for 4 months. My family had tried to help me in every way, but only God and I could free myself from Satan's hold on me. It is a one-on-one relationship with God and no one or nothing but His salvation and grace can free you.

The good, good news is that in one split second God can take any sort of enslavement away. I was baptized on July 18, 2010 in a lake outside of Burlington by Pastor Darrell. I asked God to take away my addiction and the sinful life I had led for so very long. All you have to do is ask with a pure heart and God will do it. I am living proof.

God answered my prayer--and then some!

My neice and her husband went to Mexico to visit his family during the time the Stand was held. Given the political climate there, I asked people to pray for their safety. (I was really focused on them not being robbed, abducted or something.) God did take care of this. However, He took care of so much more. Their 2-year old son was thrown from a horse while there. He was mildly shaken up. But, by moring was running wide open, as usual. Upon returning to the States, a doctors visit showed no problems. God does so much more than we know to ask.

Pain from back surgery relieved

Prayers from The Stand are still being answered: I just heard from Derek Rust, the National Coordinator for Alpha Marriage, and he said that his back is feeling markedly better since Saturday. Each day since Saturday, he’s been able to walk a little farther and is having less pain. He’s been in constant pain for over a year with back problems even after surgery at the beginning of 2011 so he said whatever we are doing down here – KEEP PRAYING! IT’S WORKING!

My wife has stopped hurting!

Just want to update you guys on a praise report generated from THE STAND and Sunday's message. My wife and I entered into prayer and she surrendered in prayer her hurt and asked that the lord would help her forgive the family that had badly hurt her emotionally. She has STOPPED RUNNING! Pastor, I used your message from Sunday and my wife saw herself in Jonah: concerned with the temporary things and not the things of GOD. Guys THANK YOU for the prayer over my wife!

Larry's Job

Larry has been on 2nd shift at work and was seeking a job that would allow him to work 1st shift so he could become more involved in the church. That job started Wednesday! He was able to help in the kitchen at the Alpha Class last night. Praise the LORD! Prayer works!
